El legado andalusí Foundation organized in 2000 a Writing and Drawing Contest for young people focused on the Route of the Caliphate. As a result of this call, more than 1.000 drawings and 500 essays from boys and girls aged between 8 and 14 were received. Young people showed in their works in a very imaginative way, their vision of architecture, customs and the way of life in the times of al-Andalus.
The drawings were displayed in the courtyard of Granada City Hall, in line with the visit of Their Majesties the Kings of Spain to this institution to participate in the acts for the celebration of its 5th Centennial, so they could visit the exhibition an greet the young men and women who won the contest.
