Program Euromed Heritage IV

Implementation period: 2005-2008

The Arab World Institute of Paris led this project framed in the Euromed Heritage program. Its main objective was to contribute to the mutual understanding and encouragement of dialogue between Mediterranean cultures through the comprehension of cultural heritage. The promotion of intercultural dialogue was based on a sequence of activities aimed at supporting the preservation and promotion of the common historical and cultural heritage of the Euro-Mediterranean region by means human, scientific and technological exchanges.

Partners: Arab World Institute (leader), El legado andalusí Andalusian Public Foundation, Ministry of Culture – Algerian General Directorate of Heritage, Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities – Department of Antiquities of Jordan, Ministry of Culture – General Directorate of Antiquities of Lebanon, Ministry of Culture and Communication – Directorate of Cultural Heritage of Morocco, Ministry of Culture – Tunisian National Institute for Heritage, National Museum of Islamic Art of Cairo, University of Damascus.

Countries: France, Portugal, Spain, Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia, Egypt, Jordan, Lebanon and Syria .
