Programme Interreg Euro-Med

Project co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF)

Implementation period: January 2023 – September 2029

El legado andalusí Andalusian Public Foundation is the lead partner of Dialogue for Tourism, a project of the Interreg Euro-Med Programme.

Over 7 years’ duration, this project aims to establish a dialogue between the project partner institutions and associated partners to smooth sustainable tourism policies in the Mediterranean at local, regional and national levels and between different Programmes and Strategies at European and Mediterranean levels. At the same time, it will consolidate some tools created in the frame of Best Med project (Interreg Med), recently finalized, that was also lead by El legado andalusí.

The aim is to work towards a smarter and greener Mediterranean, to fight the impact of global changes on Mediterranean resources and to ensure sustainable growth in the future.

Dialogue for Tourism partnership is made up of eight countries:

1.– Andalusian Public Foundation El legado andalusí – LP.

2.- National Tourism Organisation of Montenegro.

3.- Institute of Circular Economy and Climate Change (Greece).

4.- Alpes-Côte d’Azur Region (France).

5.- Lazio Region (Italy).

6.- Institute of Agriculture and Tourism (Croatia).

7.- Ministerio de Transportes y Comunicación (Chipre).

8.- Municipality of Varna (Bulgaria).

In addition, the project relies on 25 partners from the Mediterranean basin, including the European Institute of Cultural Routes (Council of Europe), the Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Sport of the Andalusian Regional Government and the Lebanese-American University of Beirut, to name but a few.

As for the main actions designed, the project plans to expand the member regions and countries of the Network of National and Regional Sustainable Tourism Observatories in the Mediterranean as a tool to support expert planning, shared decision-making and a substantial improvement of the dialogue on sustainable tourism in the Mediterranean.

In this sense, El legado andalusí also envisions, among the actions planned, the participation in the online courses of the Academy of the Interreg Euro-Med Programme, the realization of capacity building workshops in this field, discussion panels and working groups at regional level and various communication and dissemination actions with the contribution of Andalusia in this field as a central axis.
